Versione Italiana piĆ¹ giĆ¹...

Here is my entry for Zorra's new event: Onion Day.
This couldn't be considered a recipe: it's too simple! :o)
This is an easy way to cook onions and the one I prefer. Baked onions remember me the childhood and the warm kitchen where my family stay together.
I've used wite onions that are more sweet than the yellow ones.

Milky Baked Onions

4 white onions
1 bay leaf
milk
salt, pepper and olive oil.

Peel the onions and cut them in half. Place the onions, cut side up, in a baking pan toghether with the bay leaf.
Add salt anf fresh ground pepper over each onion. Pour enough milk into the pan to cover the bottom of the onions.
Cover with parchment paper and alluminum foil and put in pre-heat oven at 180°C.
After 20 minutes uncover the pan, add a little of oil and let the milk evaporate and make a brown crust.

Italian now!
Come avevo scritto venerdƬ oggi ĆØ l'Onion Day.
